Example of a Sitemap.xml

Here is an example of a Sitemap.xml with two entries:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>

<urlset xmlns="http://www.sitemaps.org/schemas/sitemap/0.9">
<url>
<loc>http://www.SEO-Help.net/google-ranking-factors</loc>
<lastmod>2017-08-23</lastmod>
<changefreq>monthly</changefreq>
<priority>0.8</priority>
</url>

<url>
<loc>http://www.SEO-Help.net/breadcrumb-navigation</loc>
<lastmod>2017-08-20</lastmod>
<changefreq>monthly</changefreq>
<priority>0.8</priority>
</url>

</urlset>

Of course such a sitemap should be generated automatically. Either you install a plugin which does the job or you do it yourself, in case you a programmer. If so, just write a piece of method which iterates of all your pages you want to show up in the Sitemap.xml and write one url section after the other.

Every url section begins with <url> and ends with </url>

<loc> is the address of a singe webpage.
<lastmod> tells the search engine when the single page was last modified.
<changefreq> tells the search engine the change frequency
<priority> tells the search engine the priortiy
