In order to get your articles or pages faster indexed, it is recommended to create a Sitemap.xml.
A Sitemap.xml provides search engines a good overview about the structure of your website and of all pages which your website contains of.

Here is an example of a Sitemap.xml with two entries:

Of course such a sitemap should be generated automatically. Either you install a plugin which does the job or you do it yourself, in case you a programmer. If so, just write a piece of method which iterates of all your pages you want to show up in the Sitemap.xml and write one url section after the other.
Every url section begins with <url> and ends with </url>
<loc> is the address of a singe webpage.
<lastmod> tells the search engine when the single page was last modified.
<changefreq> tells the search engine the change frequency
<priority> tells the search engine the priortiy
